Sleep monsters & sleep deprivation Day 6 #TransAfrika

Another early start reminiscent of Freedom Challenge / RASA days. Cycling in the predawn darkness. An orange glow on the western horizon. Initially I thought it was the setting moon but was too orange and persisted for too long. En route to Morgenzon I clambered out of that dark place.

Lowest morning temp: 1degC Johann wasn’t loving it when I informed him that the ambient temperature had doubled.

Breakfast / lunch / only sit down meal of the day.

Sunset heading into Warden. Survived the second big headwind session. First was the final 10km into Standerton. Second was the last 40km into Warden

Left Ermelo at 4am. Traveled via Standerton and Warden. Final destination Bethlehem. The last section was the most mentally challenging. Ambient temperature dropped down to -1degC. Sleep monsters were out in force.
Arrived at midnight.

Sleep is in order.
