This morning was a less enthusiastic start. Fortunately not as cold as the preceding starts.
It is interesting to note how ones eating habits have changed:
Breakfast at 06:00. Snack all day on boiled potatoes, boiled eggs and bar-one’s. Then two large meals in quick succession (Lunch at 16:00 and supper at 19:00).
There is a broadcast on DSTV (Supercycling) from Kamberg – where the Fairburn / Old Mutual Joberg2c Race Village is staying for the evening.
Today was shorter distance wise but still difficult. (96km). My body is still complaining after yesterday’s abuse session. Everything from my lower back down hurts while sitting in the saddle. I have become good at braking / changing gears with what can best be termed “uncooked sausages” (what my right hand feels like for the first 60km of every day) – the parasthesia / numbness resolves after which it is good to have a functional hand again.
The scenery going from Winterton to Kamburg was once again incredible.
Now for sleep.
