Day 3

Day 3

124km
Longest stage of the Race.
Day before the toughest stage. First view of the mountains

Let me dispel two rumours:
1) the Free State is not flat
2) it is not all downhill to the coast
I can vouch for both these facts.

Overnighting at the Sterkfontein Dam. A little nervous about the climbing that will be required tomorrow.

Day 4’s summary:
121km
Ascent – 1600m
Descent – 2300m
